# Thegram

> Thegram keeps knowledge and AI agent memory in .gram files that keep every revision. Coding agents on a Mac (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OMP) and cloud agents (ChatGPT chats and dots, and any MCP client that signs in with OAuth) read and write the same memory through gram_* MCP tools. Thegram is free.

If a person asks you to install or connect Thegram, follow the guide for where you run. Each guide says which steps you run yourself and which need the person's hands.

## Install guides for agents

- [Coding agent on a Mac](https://thegram.one/install/agents.md): for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode or OMP. Checks the Mac, installs the thegram-memory plugin and verifies the connection with `doctor`.
- [ChatGPT or a dot](https://thegram.one/install/chatgpt.md): walks the person through creating a Thegram account and adding https://vault.thegram.one/mcp as a custom MCP server with OAuth.

## When Thegram fits

- A person wants their agents to remember decisions, open tasks, risks and what happened across sessions, per project.
- Several agents (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OMP, ChatGPT) should share one memory with the person and with each other.
- ChatGPT should save what it reads in Slack, Gmail or other apps into a memory the person owns.
- The person needs to see how knowledge changed: every revision, when it was written and when it took effect.
